Join us as we depart from Penzance, venturing south along the stunning Cornish coastline. We first pass St. Clement’s Island and the charming village of Mousehole, keep your eyes peeled for playful seals basking in the sun.
Our adventure continues as we navigate westward, making a stop at Tater Du Lighthouse. Next, we’ll explore Penberth, a picturesque fishing hamlet that serves as a living time capsule of Cornwall’s rich fishing heritage.
As we pass Logan’s Rock, prepare to be amazed by Porthcurno, often referred to as the “Cornish Caribbean.” This breathtaking location is renowned not only for its natural beauty but also as the home of the world-famous Minack Theatre, perched dramatically on the cliffs.
But the adventure has only just begun! We are off to the wild west.
We’ll venture around Gwennap Head, taking shelter from the wild waters offshore while enjoying stunning cliff views. Our next stop is Nanjizal Bay—celebrated for its crystal-clear turquoise waters. This is the perfect time to learn about the local marine life and coastal seabirds that nest among the cliffs.
From Nanjizal, it’s a short journey to Land’s End, the most south western point of mainland UK. Famous for its dramatic tides and rugged scenery, this area is a hotspot for diverse wildlife, including leaping tuna, various species of cetaceans, and bird colonies, making it a truly remarkable spot.
But we’re not turning back just yet! Depending on conditions, we’ll venture out to the Carn Bras reef, one of Cornwall’s largest seal haul-out spots. As well as the home to the highlight of our trip the historic Longships Lighthouse, standing proud against the backdrop of the ocean.
As we turn back towards the bay, we ride the waves for four exhilarating miles through the Roland Stone Race, a tidal feature that lifts the sea. We’ll share insights about the impressive seabirds that soar over these currents in search of food.
Once we round the Ronald, we’ll follow a steep underwater drop-off a few miles offshore, leading us into the heart of Mounts Bay. This area creates the perfect conditions for what we call the “Dolphin Corridor,” where you can frequently spot various dolphin species, porpoises, and even whales. Dolphins often come playfully close to our boat, providing an unforgettable wildlife experience alongside soaring seabirds.
Due to the dynamic nature of our waters, we must remain adaptable to changing conditions. The captain may adjust the route as necessary to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on board.
