We embark on our journey through the beautiful estuary, turning northeast into the SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) national park. Marvel at the three-mile stretch of golden sand beach with clear waters as we make our way to Godrevy Lighthouse. This iconic landmark is not just a scenic viewpoint; it also serves as a haul-out spot for the protected seal colony residing in Mutton Cove.
As we round Navex Point, prepare to be captivated by a stretch of coastline rich with picturesque caves and coves. The slate cliffs here have been intricately carved by the sea and wind, making this area one of the most scenic spots in Cornwall. The cliffs are adorned with vibrant flowers, in our opinion some of the best natural beauty in the region.
We will explore this part of the coastline until we reach Hell’s Mouth—a breathtaking location! The towering cliffs above provide a perfect habitat for various seabirds, We also often see seals foraging in this area. Enjoy observing these impressive creatures in their natural environment while we share insights about their behaviours and ecology.
Next, we’ll head out to sea, navigating the north side of the Stones Reef, which extends a couple of miles offshore. From there, we’ll turn west and take a sweeping tour of St Ives Bay, keeping an eye out for dolphins, and offshore birdlife.
Due to the dynamic nature of our waters, we must remain adaptable to changing conditions. The captain may adjust the route as necessary to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone on board.
